A dino-mite 2nd birthday party!

I don't normally like doing big events for kid parties because it's a lot of work and they likely won't remember it anyway... but this time was different. Since moving to our new house in March, many friends and family hadn't been to see our house yet, so, I figured, let's have a big party! I scoured Pinterest for ideas on what to do and settled on a few things I must do: TriceratossFeed the TrexWatermelon DinoVolcano Smash Cake Here is how it all turned out! Thanks for following along! Organizing my Tupperware

Organizing my Tupperware

I've been throwing tupperware in this shelfless good for nothing cupboard for a couple of months before I finally had enough. I decided to take some of my pine scraps and add some organization to this mess. A couple of shelves, a sorter for lids and a piece at the front to keep things contained and now, she is a beauty in all her simplicity. Opening my cupboard door doesn't scare me any more :) Thank you for following along! Stay crafty my friends,   Adelle

Raised walk in garden bed made with wood scraps

I wasn't intending to make a permanent garden by any means since I'm hoping to get a greenhouse in the next year or so, but, we needed something to grow some tomatoes and cucumbers in.  There are a lot of little creatures around here too so it needed to have some netting around the outside in order to keep those pests out. I decided on pine, again, because it's cheap and well, I had a lot of extra scraps of it laying around from some other projects I had done around the house. I also had a couple rolls of...

A more functional gate for my deck

When we moved in to our home back in March we already hated this gate they had on the deck. I know the previous owners had a small dog, so they installed this easily and cheaply to keep her safe but she was ugly and increasingly difficult to use. One day, I finally had enough of the old girl and I removed all the hardware. Now, I had no gate to keep our 2 year old safe on the deck so I had no choice but get a new one done and quick! I quickly drew up a simple plan and...

Floating shelves and a DIY chalkboard

I was feeling up for a challenge and I had a couple of bare walls in my kitchen. We badly needed some storage on the one side and I've always wanted a nice framed chalkboard so one weekend in July, I made this happen. I found this great frame at the restore and it was already painted white. I found some pegboard at Home Depot and painted 3 coats of chalkboard paint on it. I used finishing nails to tack it inside the frame and voilà! For the floating shelves I followed this great tutorial online, but changed the measurements to...
